For whatever reason in VS code that usually fails the first time. I bring up the commands and type, 'Reload Window,' or you could quit and open it again. Then you'll most likely have to reload your window. In VSCode, if your snippets json file formatting gets unreadable, where everything is essentially one long string, open the file in VSCdoe and use Shift+Alt+F to make it pretty. I'll hit save there and make sure in my settings that the extension's path points to that directory. If I were to leave out the curly braces, then it would try to evaluate this in Emmet. What I want that to expand, typically you write that LI times three, or whichever Emmets in text you want to expand. Then the character I want to type before I hit Tab is Q.
